c'est une pièce adaptée au chalumeau oxyacétylénique de type 0
caractérisé par le débit que son orifice permet d'écouler pendant un certain temps. Comme l'acétylène est le carburant, c'est lui qui sert de référence de débit par heure.
Ce débit est indiqué sur la buse.
Exemple : buse marquée 100 = débit d'acétylène de 100 litres par heure.
Il existe de nombreuses buses, mais les buses les plus couramment utilisées sont : 50 - 70 - 100 - 140 - 200 - 250 - 315 - 400 - 500 - 630 - 800 - 1000 l/h.
Les chalumeaux sont référencés selon le débit maximum autorisé et donc tout chalumeau ne peut porter que certaines buses en rapport avec sa norme :
- chalumeau n° 00 pour une gamme de débits de 10 à 140 l/h (buse 140 maxi),
- chalumeau n° 0 pour une gamme de débits de 50 à 200 l/h (buse 200 maxi),
- chalumeau n° 1 pour une gamme de débits de 250 à 1 000 l/h (buse 1 000 maxi),
- chalumeau n° 2 de 1 250 à 5 000 l/h (industriel).
